"When I went and saw Eminem at halftime, I said bro you taste it don't you? and he said 'I do taste it.' I said spit it out bro, because you gotta get to 34... He never got to 34.


Young said he left the chatter about the game at the scene. He didn’t want to rub the 49ers’ amazing win -- and the Lions’ painful loss -- in anymore.


“It was just right then,” Young said. “I’m not that kind of guy, ‘Oh, let me see if I can keep a good stream going.’ It would have to be organic -- organic or nothing.”


Plus, Young genuinely enjoyed having a conversation with Eminem.


“He was a good dude,” Young said. “He was thoughtful. You could see what a fan he was.”


It's unlikely Young and Eminem will be in the same room again, but with the expectations San Francisco and Detroit bear for the 2024 NFL season, there’s a good chance the two organizations will meet again with another trip to the big game on the line.

Eminem is one of the most-streamed artists in the world, with 76 million monthly listeners on Spotify alone. Spotify has won a long-running court case, in which it was accused of streaming Eminem's music without permission. The case was launched in 2019 by the rapper's publisher, Eight Mile Style, which said Spotify failed to correctly license Eminem's work. They sued the music company for approximately £30m, saying that the star had never received full payment for songs like Lose Yourself and Without Me, which have been "streamed on Spotify billions of times". But a judge in Tennessee has ruled that Spotify will not be liable for any lost royalties, despite finding that Spotify did not have a license to stream the tracks.
